This was so cute! Loved it
I need to know where to get Wendy’s tape measure holder (figure shape!)
Wow she did an amazing job, there is no way i would have been able to pull that off. I would have been like wait what 😂😂😂
Drew talking over the other person in the video again 😶
This was awesome!!! Loved it!
Wood is labeled its size before they plane it smooth!
I was so nervous you were going to either drill a hole in or spill paint on those beautiful floors hahahahaha. Looks great!
Hiii!I really love your DIY tutorials. They are really creativ. You are a realy great artist A lot of love from Romania!💕
So enjoyable!!
Wendy making conversation and Drew okay lets hang up and we’ll talk later 😒
This was so fun to watch! Going to check Wendy’s channel out. Your macrame design would make cute garland 😍
Yes!!
I love how genuine Wendy is. She is the best
When you did a closeup shot of the six holes you drilled with the wtf voice-over it was hilarious. You make me laugh from my belly at least once on all of your videos!! And I'm not the laugh a lot type of person. You're funny Drew!! Love your videos. ❤
Yay a collaboration with 2 of my fave IRworld creators 👍
Love the James Charles blue eye look gorgeous smile cameo. #adorbsyoutubers
there's so much i wanna say, but i'm just gonna go the 'less is more' route and say that this video is IT.
They're not "lying" about the wood size. 2x4 or 2x6 is the nominal wood size. This means it is what the wood is initially cut to when it is run through the milling machines. However, when they sand it down to smooth out the sides you inevitably lose some of the thickness and width. In general the rule of thumb is you lose half an inch. So a board that is nominally 2x6 is actually 1.5x5.5. For boards that are thinner, 1 inch thick, you only lose a quarter of an inch. so the actual size would be 0.75x5.5 for a 1x6. Usually if you're buying from a big chain hardware store (think Home Depot or Lowes) they have both the nominal and actual size printed on the sticker.
You could also use “L” brackets on the back of the shelf if you know it’s going to be there for awhile!
Did anyone else see James Charles come in?? Or did I miss something...
Genius macrame diy
She is delightful! This was fun!
I don’t know her but Wendy’s sweater is so fuckin cute!
interesting collab, love
Great collab- thank you so much for the amazing inspo, Drew!
I wanted to do design too, but realized I wasn’t as good at sewing like I thought😂 And now I graduated with a product development concentration and do PD full time! But I interior design would be a dream 💭 edit: me listening to you explain and WATCHING how to do macrame and I still don’t understand haha
i’m so excited for x-mas diys!!!!
i have no idea how wendy was able to follow. im watching this with my eyes and im lost. LOL
I cracked up when James popped in!! lol!
Sooo cooool .. love both of YOU guys ❤ I just have a thought could improve it a little U could have started the macrame from the ring down and then slipped the cord through the openings of the shelf .. and tie them together then add some beads and let them hang That would be nice too
The reason the wood is always a little bit shorter is because they mill a bit off. And I think they don't say it because .5x5.5 isn't as easy to say as 1x6
It's 1 x 6 rough cut. So when it's been cleaned up it loses a bit of the volume and ends up being slightly less than the 1 x 6 nominal dimension (typically 1/8" off each face I believe but don't quote me).
wood is always slightly smaller than it is labeled bc it is cut and then allowed to dry and it shrinks a little bit while it’s drying! so usually about 1/8” smaller than labeled
I love how neat Wendy's work is. 💖
if that make sense, if that make sense, if that make sense soo if that make sense hahaha
The reason the wood size is different from what it says is because it is that size before they treat it and the pressure shrinks it down. So everything up to 2x6 will be a 1/2” smaller (ex. 2x4 nominal size becomes 1 1/2”x 3 1/2” actual size) and 2x8 and above shrinks by 3/4”. Drewwww how can you not know about nominal lumber sizes??? 💛
@Diana nguyen obviously I was teasing him in good natured manner hence the 💛 haha. I don’t expect everyone to know that though it is relatively common knowledge.
He's not a carpenter and doesn't have a lot of experience doing wood projects, so I can see why he didn't know :)
So hyped for this. Love both of your channels!
Yay! Thank you!
That's so great! Both of these collabs were fantastic!
Wendy nailed it..☺️
Wendy is adorable and very crafty,, love to see more videos.. and you can have Wendy do a voice over on your video for fun 😜☮️♥️
I love her channel too. she is so talented!
How does her circle looks so perfect ✨😍👌
Guess you’re not a lone fox when you’re with wendy
hahahaha
Would have been WAY better if you started the macrame from the ring and have dangly fringe or beads hanging from the bottom of the shelf.
This is such a creative idea and project to do all at home!
So can I just braid those strings? 🤔 I did macrame in elementary school about 40 yrs ago; I got nothing on it now. 😂 But I truly love the shelf, you two. Kudos!
Drew you should of defiantly put a ' hi sisters ' in there when James popped his head in 🤣🤣🤣
That's cool that you both collabed. I've watched Withwendys videos before and she is so talented. It was cool seeing James pop up in the video :) You also did do well coaching her.
fun fact about commercial lumber: terms like 1x6 or 2x4 are nominal measurements, they’re taken when the lumber is raw and still wet from being a tree. it’s machined into boards at this stage, and those measurements are what’s used for that process. however, as the boards dry, they shrink, and that’s why there’s a difference between the name of the board (the nominal measurement) and the actual measurement!
Love the macrame design Drew! Love this collab! Thank you so much Drew and Wendy!
Glad you enjoyed it
Wait, was that James Charles?
Wendy is so cute!
Drew, does it make sense????
Put tape on the ends of your cord to keep it from unravelling.
This was really fun to watch! This is also a fun diy idea to do with friends/family.
I ALSO USE THE CHOPSTICK HACK
Wendy: I've never used macrame Drew: ..................................................................
@lonefox can you tell me the specific emerald green color you used, i think on your bedroom wall? I want to use it in my room!
I never knew I needed this collab
So fun!
Amazing video!! if you would like to see more DIY-Videos have a look at my channel :-)

James Charles’ bedroom in the backround👁👄👁
I enjoyed watching this video
I have NO idea how she was able to do the macrame. I couldn’t understand and I could see and I’ve done macrame before. Wow!
Your bedroom is gorgeous.
Hey Drew! The reason why the boards are always different sizes is because there are nominal dimensions (ex: 2x6, 1x8, which represents the rough cut of the wood) and actual dimensions (the size of the wood after it has been processed), which are always 1/2, 1/4, or 3/4 shorter than the nominal dimensions.
Two of my favorite youtubers in one video ❤️❤️❤️❤️yaSs
I usually watch on TV so I almost never comment, but I had to leave one today. Thank you for the great video--your collabs are always fun and really well produced. I loved your thrift collab with Macenna, as well. I also got your app and ordered the set of macrame plant hangers. Alexandra Gater just did a bedroom makeover for her editor and gave me a great idea for using all of your fabulous plant hangers together. Thank you for all your great content--I look forward to every vid!
Aw thank you so much for your kind words :) love it!! Enjoy your macrame plant hangers!
I don't know how Wendy understood all of that without seeing. Queen!!! Love this combo Sara Nena DIY
Loved it! I would love to see one with Tina Le. Thank you! Love from Portugal
Hm. I learned why the names of hardwoods are actually rounded up in shop class. I forgot. I feel unhelpful.
Who?
I would have failed miserably 😂 I didn’t know about Wendy until today, but I’m going to check her out! Y’all make such a great team!!
I didn't even know how much I needed this!! 😍
OMG I DIDNT THINK I NEEDED THIS COLLAB
